I thought we only had good break-dancers and Free-Runners in Kuwait but it turned out I’m so wrong, a friend emailed me a cool video for the RedBull street style final show at Marina Mall and the guys were really amazing! Both Karam Humaidani and Abdulwahab Al Oteibi did incredible tricks and moves with the ball that I thought weren’t possible, over 2,000 spectators were dazzled, literally.

The 1st winner, Karam Humaidani, will represent Kuwait in the world championship in Italy on September 2012, congrats and wish him all the luck!

I always believed that we got creative talents in Kuwait, yet they just need guidance and fortunately Kuwait is starting to support such talents.

I paid a little visit to the Mawaheb expo at the Avenues mall and I liked what I saw, there were a variety of young talents (artists, musicians, inventors, photographers, designers..etc) showcasing their creative work.

As I understood this expo is organized by Sabah Al Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creative (SACGC), this center was created last year, I think, to support gifted individuals.

Some of the talents that I really liked were the painting, computer animation and graphics designing, cartoons and caricature, and the knitting.

The expo will extend for another two days and there are over 20 talents, pay it a visit I promise you won’t regret.

Location: Avenues Mall -Phase II

Duration: 15th, 16th, & 17th March

I saw some good bike riders in Kuwait but this one is like no one else, Mashallah, just seeing how he’s so skillful made me recall the old time movie Mad Max.

Note: Don’t try this on the streets please.

Do you like reality shows? 52Degrees has made a press conference to announce the first Kuwaiti reality show named “I Wish” that will be aired on Al Watan TV and sponsored by Zain.

The good thing is that this reality show isn’t only about music but also fashion designers, direction, cooking, painting..etc. and it will be airing for two months and 5 groups will be competing.

There will be judges and  SMS voting, and the prizes will be sending the winners on special courses to develop their skills

Anyone with any age can participate as long he/she has a skill and a wish, the organizers said that the show will preserve Kuwaiti traditions.

Tentatively, I’m positive about it because it gives an opportunity to talented Kuwaities to reveal their skills and achieve their dreams.

I recieved an E-mail from the Sadu House that they are conducting workshops for traditional Kuwaiti weaving skills for adults and children starting November 19.

This is a great for preserving Kuwait’s heritage and for expats who wish to learn old Kuwaiti crafts.  Read about my visit to Sadu House here

I was leafing through a local magazine this morning and my attention was attracted to a little artist Hamed Al-Refaei, who even at the tender age of 8 creates vibrant canvases which carry the innocence, yet also shows a profound talent.

I looked him on Facebook and managed to find his little cute fan page, he displayed many nice galleries from his works. Isn’t it great to see that we have such creative talents at very young age ? I wish there’s a national program that keeps an eye for all unique talents in Kuwait.

I was watching MBC 4 and I saw that Arab’s Got Talent season 2 is about to begin and this time from Dubai, the registration started today. I liked the first season but I didn’t like how it ended and how they chose the final winner.

The Egyptian, Amr Katamesh, had won the title for Arabs’ Got Talent show on MBC 4 TV channel. The grand prize are Half million riyals Saudi and Chevrolet camaro.

Ok now I fully agree that he has creative acting skills, but I didn’t imagine that he will be the grand winner, because we already have many people with similar talent in the Arab world, and what we need is to see new kind of talents.

Congratulations to Amr !
